God’s Delight

The LORD your God is with you. He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you. He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing. Zephaniah 3:17 (NIV)

Did you know that as a Christian you are never alone? Not for one single second. God and His warrior angels walk with you all the time. When I was five years old, I discovered God for the first time in the neighborhood Christian school and church I attended.

I had been abused by my parents and placed in a temporary foster home. It was my foster family that enrolled me in the school and daily church attendance was part of the study structure. It was in this beautiful, loving environment that I understood that God walked with me everywhere. Knowing this filled me with a sense of awe and peace I have to this day.

The Lord loves us tremendously because we are created in His image.

No matter what the world says about us, we are God’s delight. His love saves us and has the power to calm storms that rage through our lives. His voice is soothing and sweet as He sings over us bringing peace like a soothing balm.

~My Heart Poured Out~

Father God, Your love is awesome and amazing! Thank You for stepping into my heart as a small child. Your love fills me to overflowing. May that love flow out of me and into all You’ve called me to be and do. In Jesus Name! Amen.

~Scripture for Further Study~

❤ But it was because the LORD loved you and kept the oath He swore to your ancestors that He brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the land of slavery, from the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt. Deuteronomy 7:8

❤ He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets prisoners free, and gives sight to the blind. The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down. The Lord loves the righteous. Psalm 146:7-8

❤ The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.” Jeremiah 31:3

❤ See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him. 1 John 3:1

My Heart Poured Out

Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts before Him. God is our refuge. Psalm 62:8 (CSB)

I remember that day so well. It’s seared into my memory like a crisp, clear snapshot. In the bathroom, on my knees crying out to God. Pouring out my heart to Him.

“Father, do you see me? Do you know about the pain I’m in?” “Father please help me!”

I don’t know how long I was praying on my knees in the bathroom but I believe God heard me that day because a few months later He absolutely answered my prayer.

The entries of this journal are love letters from my heart. Love letters written in devotional format for encouragement and the study of God’s Word. The devotions follow a theme and our first theme is: My Heart Poured Out in Love

Follow along and let’s see what our hearts discover about love through God’s Word.
